WILMANA

WILMANA takes the form of an eagle. It is said that he is the embodiment of Garuda Harna who died in the war against King Hiranyakasipu, the king of Alengka. Garuda Harna is the eldest of four sons of Resi Bhiswawa. The three younger siblings who also have the form of Garuda are; Garuda Brihawan, Garuda Sempati and Garuda Jatayu.

While still a Garuda Harna, he was involved in a war against King Hiranyakasipu. The war happened because he defended his best friend. Prabu Nasa from the country of Banapura who at that time was under attack from the country of Alengka. In that battle Garuda Harna and Prabu Nasa died, while Dewi Narti, Prabu Nasa's daughter was forcibly brought to Alengka by Prabu Hiranyakasipu to be his wife.

Because of his supernatural powers, Garuda Harna's corpse that fell on the shore of the ocean was not damaged, but only blackened and turned small. Several tens of years later, when Bambang Sitija, the son of Sanghyabng Wisnu and Dew Pertwi came out of the Jalatunda Well to look for his father who had descended to the statue to incarnate as King Kresna in the country of Dwarawati, he found a carcass of a petrified bird on the shore of the ocean. With the supernatural powers of Graft Wjayamlya, Bambang Sitija , and returned to his original form as a Garuda bird. By Bambang Sitija, the Garuda bird, which is good at speaking like a human, was named Wilmana.

Since then, Garuda Wilmana has become Bambang Sitija's vehicle and friend, who, after becoming king in Tjuangisna, has the title Prabu Bomanarakasura. Later when King Bomanaraksura was killed by a Cakra weapon released by his own father, King Kresna in a fight with Raden Samba over Dewi Hagnyanawati, by Hyang Wisnu, Garuda Wimana was ordered to stay in Kahyangan Untarasegara with the task of protecting the safety of Sriwedari Park.
