Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara Amoghapasha Century 8 Multi-Armed
Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva also known as: Kwan Shi Yin Pu Sha or Kwan Im Pu Sha , In Mahayana Buddhist belief that symbolizes compassion , AvalokiteÅvara, describes him as a compassionate bodhisattva who hears the cries of sentient beings and who works tirelessly to help those who call on his name.
When the Chinese monk Faxian traveled to Mathura in India around 400 AD, he wrote about monks making offerings to AvalokiteÅvara , When Xuanzang traveled to India in the 7th century, he provided an eyewitness account of the statue of AvalokiteÅvara being worshiped by devotees from all walks of life, from kings to monks to lay people.
Because of his great compassion and because he wanted to create conditions suitable for all Bodhisattva levels and bring happiness and peace to sentient beings, he became a Bodhisattva, has the title of Quan Avalokiteshvara and often resides in the Saha world. At the same time, AvalokiteÅvara was also Buddha Amitabha's companion, assisting Buddha Amitabha to teach the Dharma in his Pure Land.
