Primitive Cathode Statue of Sumba Place of Worship

 

The cathode is a place of worship in the form of a menhir which is stuck either in the house, in the garden, in the rice fields or at the entrance to the village. The cathode has a function as a medium for worshiping spirits, besides that it also functions to ask for safety and fertility for the benefit of humans, animals and plants.
