The lion statue is a symbol of the ability to be able to destroy the evil forces of Asubha Karma who in legend becomes the king of the forest in the form of Barong Ket as a symbol of good to be able to destroy evil.
In the form of a winged lion statue which is also called the Ambara Raja Lion. In its true state it is wingless.

The lion statue also functions as a pedestal joint like the Garuda statue. The material is made of strong, hard and durable wood.
The lion statue is also used as a joint for the base of the saka pillars on the pillars of the structure or the pillars made of hard rock, or sea coral which is massive and hard white.
The winged lion statue is also made as a carving craft for souvenirs from small sizes for table decorations to large sizes for room decoration.
The material is from gray padas stone or hard wood which is durable, without or with coloring. Statues of winged lions are also sacred to Pratima as symbols of worship.
For adventures as places for cremation / sawa in the cremation ceremony besides the ox statue, a lion statue is also used with a temporary embodiment and decoration which is also burned along with the cremation on the body of the adventure of the lion statue.
